Centerscape acquires Penny Lebensmittelmarkt in Leipzig and completes construction of a new local supply center in Chemnitz

At the end of April 2019, the investor Centerscape acquired the long-term property leased to the REWE subsidiary Penny with a total rental space of 1,150 m² in the Leipzig district of Mölkau. The food market with integrated butcher and bakery, which has been operating since 1998, was expanded in 2018 and extensively modernized in the course of this. The property is located in an integrated location, has a large parking space and has a good public transport connection.

This is already the 22nd penny market in the portfolio of Centerscape and the 136th object in Germany.

In the Kappel district of Chemnitz, the historical site area IKARUS (former airport) was acquired in 2017 and was handed over to the tenants after two years of project development and construction. As a preliminary highlight at the end of 2018, a modern ALDI market with almost 1,600 m² of rental space was completed on the 7,805 m² plot. In March 2019, the 950 m² rental unit was purchased from ROSSMANN Drugstore.

The well-known in Chemnitz Nahversorgungszentrum in excellent location, with excellent infrastructure and more than 100 parking spaces on the parking lot has already started successfully. Centerscape is working on further planning concepts for the settlement of additional uses in the remaining area of approx. 700 m².
